vintage treasures!

My mom and both of my sisters and I are all quite obsessed with finding cool brooches.

I found these fun little treasures at the swap meet today. The small cream flower one is actually a pair of clip on earrings (I gave one to Kalli) that I am going to use as a brooch. I have a dress that is made with delicate fabric that a pin would ruin, and it would be adorable with a brooch, so the clip on earring will work perfectly!
This is the rest of my collection. Soon to be joined with a cute yellow butterfly that I won from e-bay. Yay!
One lady we were buying stuff from today gave Trinity two of her very own pins! She is very excited about that. One is a cute fuzzy little bear, and the other is a tulip.
Eliana also is also finding a love for all things vintage. She loves wearing kexy's (sexy's, aka sunglasses).

trouble

Right before bath time last night, Trin was going potty and looked up and me said,

"You're an idiot."

I burst out laughing, not because I thought it was funny, it just took me by surprise. So, upon hearing my laughter Trinity thought that she was wildly funny. After I kinda pulled myself together, I told her that was not a nice word and she should never call anyone that. I then asked her to apologize and she flat out refused. I asked her again and she still refused and started acting really bratty. So after she was done on the potty she got a nice spank on her bare bum and I put her in the tub, and she started in at me.

Trin: "I'm gonna tell papa! I'm gonna tell papa!"

me: "Oh ya, what's he going to do?"

Trin: "He's gonna spank you!!!"

me (trying not to laugh again): " I don't think so. I think he would tell you to obey your mommy."

This child is getting the worst attitude some days. At times she can be the sweetest, best helper in the world, then a switch flips. I think she might have a good chance at becoming a lawyer because she finds it necessary to argue with me about anything and everything! I even considered putting her up for sale at our yard sell last week. Kidding. mostly.

God sure sent down some strong willed children for these last days.

Today I felt old..

Well, maybe more like grown up, or mature, sophisticated maybe?....... OK, old.

This all came about as I was sitting at work minding my own business, when five adolescent boys, who, by the looks and sound of it, thought they were the best thing since sliced bread. First they walked past the front of the building then decided that the bit of concrete by the garage type door in the back was the perfect place to continue on with their antics. They were loud and making sounds that, to me, sounded as if they were strangling a cat! After being completely annoyed of the talk of condoms (but I'm glad for their sake they are planning to use them), and scared of the chance they had actually gotten hold of a poor cat, I marched outside and up to the boys.

Relief no cat.

"Would you mind keeping it down?!! I'm trying to work inside. Maybe you guys should move."
(I was really just in the middle of a game of hearts, but they didn't need to know that)

A couple pathetic "sorry" 's were said and I walked away.
I guess they left, for now it is quiet. Thank goodness. :)

I am just amazed that only 5-10 years ago I might have found the likes of them amusing.
So, I guess, sometimes it's not so bad to get old.

what's the worst thing the swine flu could bring?

It could stop us all from going to stores. More importantly the DOLLAR STORE. But this is according to Trinity.

Alex and I were discussing the swine flu and what if it got really bad and people were dying like flies and we couldn't even go to the store. Trinity was listening intently, and upon hearing that trips to the store might not happen she immediately burst into tears.

"Is everybody going to be sick?!? Can we not go to the dollar store anymore!?!!"

We immediately started laughing and consoling her that not everyone is sick yet and we don't know how bad it will get, and that we can still make trips to the dollar store for now.

Trinity said the family prayer before bed and specifically asked Heavenly Father to not let everybody get sick so we can still go to the store.
