little things at home that make me smile:)

I needed to post, so thanks for the fun idea Jes and Lindsay!

A few of the awesome pumpkins we grew this year!

Pine cones that Trinity picked up at a park and HAD to bring home.

3 witch hats. That complete costumes for me, for Trin and one for Elli!

Butternut and acorn squash from my garden give a seasonal feel to the kitchen.

An antique looking little bicycle that my mom got for me for Christmas to put in the baby's room when I was pregnant with Trinity. It seemed boyish to me for a girls room so I have it in my kitchen. Not a good find of late, but I like looking at it :)

Branches from my corkscrew willow tree, with a couple extra sticks w/ beads I got from a store.

A shelf my Grandpa Hamilton made:)

The stripes Alex and I painted, and finally finished, in my bathroom

And my favorite: I always love a couple sets of little buns running around before bath time!

now it's your turn. what good finds are found around your home?

oh sh@%, I mean socks!

Earlier in the day:

I heard Eliana fussing. So as I go investigate, I realize her whimpers are coming from the bathroom. Oh Joy. I venture in hoping not to find her chewing on an old booger tissue from the trash. Luckily, her little hands are only stuck between the lid and toilet seat. I hurry and free my baby, and quickly as I can wash her hands a couple times. I didn't bother actually checking in the toilet, as Elli usually just likes to splash in the germ infested water.

Later in the day:

"Mom!, there's some socks in the potty!" This Trinity says as she is about to relieve herself (she can now efficiently go #1 all by herself!!! YAY)
Sigh. So I go in to take care of it, hoping its at least some of Alex's socks. But no, I go in to find my wonderfully comfortable, had been clean, pair of slipper socks now sopping wet.

Socks really aren't that big of a deal, but I am just anxious to see what Elli might be able to get in the potty next time.......

to be continued-- unfortunately sooner than later.

a walk in the park...

Alex's mom, the girls Nana, hardly ever gets to see the girls. Since we spent the night with her after getting Tatton, she decided to take the next morning off of work and take Trinity to the park to feed ducks as she had promised on an earlier occasion. :)

Trinity thoroughly enjoyed every moment feeding the ducks pieces of freshly broken bread. Laughing as she ran after the ducks calling, "come back here silly ducks, I have some bread for you!"

Such a normal, pretty duck.

There were these weird mutant ducks, with pointed beaks like a bird, who kept stealing every piece thrown in the water. Isn't it amazing what a few chemicals is the water can do to an animal.
Whenever Alex sees a good picture that I've taken, he always tries to claim it as his own-- this time he really can claim it.
What a good way to stretch out our legs before the monotonous drive home.Bertha and Trinity have a really strong bond. I love watching Trinity and her ability to draw people in and have them love her, while she loves them back just as wholly! I love this picture! Just the holding hands is such a representation of the love Trinity and her Nana share.

Welcome home Elder Hamilton!!!!!

Wednesday, October 8, 2008

Started as just your normal hectic morning trying to leave home, knowing you've at least forgotten at least 2 important items. After finally getting in the car we head out, knowing that we have just enough time to grab some lunch before arriving to the Airport on time to welcome home our brother/uncle Tatton!

Unfortunately an easy trip was not to be had..... our first 30 minute delay was a few miles outside of Payson, which we figure was a car accident or something like that.

Our second 30 minute delay, of which I was too completely upset to take a picture of, consisted of Alex hitting a curb and popping our tire when we pulled in to McDonald's to see if they had any 'Wizard of OZ' toys... Fortunately Big-O tires, aka Rip You Off Tires, was able to quickly get us in and out.

All the wonders of the airport made it a very exciting place for our children, even more for Alex who had fun playing with all the toys in the souvenir shops!

"Look Mommy a CASTLE!"

This was the "castle". It is a huge stained glass ceiling. Being Bored/anxious/excited......Some maracas that were of course purchased. One set for each girl. These girls sure are loved/spoiled by their Nana, Papa & Grandma :)

I got bored waiting and started taking pictures of random people..... I thought these Orthodox Priests looked pretty cool too!The two main women of Tatton's life:) I thought it was funny that the whole time my mom kept her hands up by her chest, as if holding her heart in for fear it was about to burst! This picture says it all. All the prayers, and waiting and hoping. All the hard work put in by so many people to get to this point. The reward and overwhelming anticipation of seeing her little boy after 2 YEARS!!!Here he comes! By-the-way, him and his companion were the VERY LAST people to come out from their flight. Much to our irritation, the boys thought it would be fine to use the rest room and get a drink of water before gracing us with their presence.Mommy gets the first hug.Daddy got the second.Uncle Tatton got to meet little Eliana for the first time!!I think it was LOVE at first sight!Rachel finally getting her hug. You can see the top of my moms head-- right after I snapped this she pried them apart. haha

Happy to be reunited!WELCOME HOME TATTON, WE ARE SO HAPPY TO HAVE YOU BACK! AND ARE PROUD OF YOU AND ALL YOUR HARD WORK!!

And not wasting any time-- Tatton and Rachel are now officially engaged as of Thursday night! Congrats you two!!!!

officially walking!

For the last couple of weeks Elli had been taking steps. No more than a few at a time-- until yesterday. She figured out that if she's walking she can carry stuff! Which means for me that there is yet another member of my family that can , instead of just pulling stuff out or down, move things into various places of our home for me later put away.

Today she has been walking even w/out something. But as you can see, she prefers to carry things!I'm so happy to be watching Elli grow and pass milestones, but also kinda sad-- my baby is getting so BIG! :(
