Snow Angels & Snow Man

5:45 A.M. Alex and I are stirred from our sleep my a little fuss from the girls room.
Alex: "Go check on her."

Which I do even though the fussing has ceased, only because lately Elli kicks all her blankets off and I don't want her to feel cold. After arranging the blankets and relieving my bladder, I half stumble back into my room to where an excited little boy has replaced my husband.
Alex: "BABE! Did you see the snow!?!"
Me: "nope." and although I love snow, I know the the girls will be up in an hour, I want to catch a few more winks.
But instead of crawling back into my still warm bed, I trudge into the kitchen to take a peek out the window. Snow. We go back to bed, but the excited little boy next to me is busy chattering about snow, and how we should get up and go take pictures! But I, having grown up here, know that the snow will still be there in an hour, so I roll over with a grunt. After further pestering me about snow and OTHER things, I manage to ignore the boy/man next to me and fall back asleep. I didn't even notice that he got up to shower and get dressed until that blessed hour later when Elli really woke up.
When Trin woke up and came into the family room this is what took place.
Alex: "Trin look outside!!"
She has been wishing for snow for a while.
Alex & I "IT SNOWED!"
Trinity: "I just couldn't wait!!" Her eyes all lit up.
The light in her eyes dims as she looks over at our Christmas tree.
Trinity:"Why didn't Santa put any presents under our tree??"
Me: "Cause to day isn't Christmas morning, it just snowed cause it's almost Christmas."
The light returns and Trin takes off to her room to get all her snow gear on.
And all day we were in and out playing in the snow, then coming back inside to warm up.

Trin's first snow angel of the season. Perfect.
Poor Elli was in boots a size to big and kept falling every couple steps. :)

Alex and Trin made this snowman together. There are 2 versions of Mr. snowman because Alex let Trinity pummel the first one. I guess he was teaching her self defense??

All day (in between snow pants and gloves) Trinity wore her angel costume that was from the previous nights nativity program and Aunt Cyndy's.

What a wonderful snow day!

How fun! It snowed here yesterday too, but none of it stuck... which I'm actually okay with since I have to drive to work every morning at 4:30. It definitely would help to put me in the Christmas spirit though!
